River report 4/25

Flag Island!

River report 4/25

Postby Papa Boud on Sun Apr 26, 2009 12:42 pm

Whew, what a day on the river. Took the boat out yesterday for the first time this year and man the river looks good. Went out to flag, which has more sand now than I have ever seen it have, to cook lunch. Then went boat riding all the way to Low Head. New sand bars everywhere. Lots of trees down on the edges of the river. so don't get to close to banks. Saw only one boat of Game and Fish guys, 4 or 5 guys in one small jon boat. they seemed to be working the river above flag mostly. At the peak, there were about 25-30 boats out on the Island. Everyone seemed to be having a good time and enjoying the beatiful weather including your humble writer. Water Temps were cool at about 70 degrees in both the river and lake. There were a few knee boarders out doing there thing and lots of new jet skis. Took a few pictures which I might post later. Oh yea, either the PRV or the river flooding has shortened some of the No Wake zones especcially the zone at Survivor Island which now doesn't start until you are past Survior going up river. See ya @ Flag again soon.
